Day 4: Shipton Camp - Makinder's Camp
Early climb to point Lenana 4,985m - On clear day you will be able to see Mount Kilimanjaro on the south, Mount Elgon to the west. Descend to Makinder's Camp for full breakfast and rest for the whole day. Dinner and overnight at the Camp (4,300m).
Day 5: Makinder's Camp - Met Station
Soon after breakfast you further descend to Met Station via Terek Valley, are Met Station in time for late lunch. Dinner and overnight at Met Station Bandas (3,100m).
Day 6: Met Station - Nairobi
You will have a leisure taken breakfast and later you hike to Naru-Moru Park gate where you will be picked and transferred to Nairobi. You will spend the whole day in Nairobi for rest and relaxation. Lunch, dinner and overnight at the designated hotel or lodge in Nairobi.
Day 7: Nairobi-Masai Mara National Reserve
Depart Nairobi in the Morning for Masai Mara passing through the dramatic Great Rift Valley stopping at the view point, ascend the western rim of the valley crossing the loita plains (Masai-land),see red-clad Maasai warriors tend their multi-colored herds amongst plains game. Game viewing en-route to lodge for lunch. Afternoon game drive inside the most scenic park in Kenya where great concentration of game is seen including the "Big Five". Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa lodge /Keekorok lodge/similar.
Day 8-9: Masai Mara National Reserve
Morning and afternoon game viewing inside the Park. Search for wild game black manned lion for which Mara is famous for, cheetah, buffalo, wildebeest, zebra, leopard, grants gazelle are quite common, even the rare rhino might come out of the thicket for you, hyenas are plentiful, Extend your drive to the hippo point where schools of hippo submerge on the approach of vehicles only to surface seconds later to shot and gamble their displeasure as the crocodiles sunbathe on the river banks mouths agape. Between meals there is optional visit to the Maasai villages for an insight to their culture if clients so wish. In the late afternoon retire for dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge.
Day 10: Maasai Mara-Lake Nakuru National Park
Early morning (before breakfast) game viewing drive at Masai Mara in search of any wild game you might have missed previously. Return to lodge for breakfast and afterwards depart for Lake Nakuru arriving in time for lunch. Lake Nakuru is referred as pink lake for it's thousands of pink flamingos and other bird life-it's a bird watchers paradise. It has a surprisingly number of animals, it is a rhino sanctuary and the "Big Five" except the elephant can't be seen here, afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge/Sarova Lion Hill lodge.
Day 11: Lake Nakuru -Nairobi
Early morning game drive around the lake and see other games that you might have missed in previous days. You will be back to the lodge or hotel for breakfast and depart for Nairobi arriving at around 1200 hours. Upon your arrival you will be having a day room as well as having hot lunch at a designated restaurant. In the evening you will be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for connecting with your international flight back home. |
